Corrigir problemas de conexão do Twisted Party

Twisted Party launched with a set of networking problems that have been partially addressed by patches but remain a real experience for players in the early post-launch window. This guide covers every known workaround, from verifying game files to adjusting firewall settings and rejoining after crashes.

Common Problems

The most frequently reported issues in early Steam reviews are:

  • Matchmaking finding no games or failing to connect to a lobby
  • Lobby freezing at the loading screen with all players stuck
  • Black screen on launch before the main menu appears
  • Players being disconnected mid-round, sometimes triggering match cancellations
  • Inter-round mini-game excluding some players entirely (see also Lobby Waiting)

A launch-day patch addressed match cancellation when too many players leave simultaneously, but lobby initialization issues and black screens have not been fully resolved at the time of writing.

Verify Game Files

If you are experiencing any of the above problems, start here. Corrupted or incomplete game files are a common cause of launch black screens and unexpected disconnections.

In Steam, right-click Twisted Party in your library, select Properties, go to the Local Files tab, and click Verify integrity of game files. Wait for the process to complete — it typically takes 2–5 minutes. Restart Steam and launch the game again.

Restart the Game

A significant percentage of lobby freeze and matchmaking failures can be resolved by fully quitting and restarting the game. Do not use the in-game return to menu option if the lobby has frozen — use Alt+Tab to switch to your desktop, end the Twisted Party process via Task Manager, and restart from Steam.

Use a Private Lobby

Public matchmaking has been reported to be significantly less stable than private lobbies during the launch window. If you are playing with friends, create a private lobby using the How to Host guide and share the invite code directly rather than relying on the public matchmaking queue.

Adjust Firewall and Network Settings

Twisted Party uses UDP for game traffic. If you are on a university network, corporate network, or VPN, UDP traffic may be blocked or throttled, causing lobby connection failures and mid-game disconnections.

Try adding Twisted Party to your firewall whitelist, or temporarily disabling your VPN if you use one. For players behind a NAT, enabling UPnP in your router settings can sometimes resolve matchmaking failures.

Black Screen on Launch

A black screen at startup is most commonly caused by one of three issues: outdated GPU drivers (see System Requirements), corrupted game files, or a conflict with overlay software.

Try disabling the Steam Overlay (right-click the game in Steam, Properties, check “Disable the Steam Overlay while in-game”) and any third-party overlay tools such as NVIDIA GeForce Experience, AMD ReLive, or Discord overlay. If the game launches with a black screen, press Alt+Enter to try switching to windowed mode — the game may be rendering to a display output your monitor is not picking up.

Rejoining After a Crash

If your game crashes mid-round and you rejoin the same lobby, you will rejoin as a new player. There is no reconnection mechanic that preserves your position in the current round. The lobby host can avoid this by waiting to start the next round until all disconnected players have rejoined.

Known Limitations

At launch, Twisted Party does not have a server browser or a ping display in the lobby. There is no way to select a specific region for matchmaking, which means players in regions with fewer active players may experience longer queue times and higher latency during rounds.

FAQ

Perguntas frequentes

Respostas rápidas para as perguntas mais comuns.

Why do I get a black screen when launching Twisted Party?

Black screen on launch is most commonly caused by outdated GPU drivers, a conflict with overlay software, or corrupted game files. Start by verifying game files in Steam and updating your GPU drivers. If that does not work, disable the Steam Overlay and any third-party overlay tools.

Can I select a specific server region for matchmaking?

No. Twisted Party does not currently offer a region selector or server browser. Matchmaking connects you to whatever the game's backend determines is the best available server, which may not be geographically close to you.

Why do I get disconnected when too many players join?

This appears to be a bug related to lobby initialization capacity rather than a fundamental networking limitation. A launch-day patch addressed mass disconnections triggering match cancellations, but some players report being individually dropped during the loading phase of full 8-player lobbies.
